JIAQING is skeptical about what FUCHANG’AN said, so he temporarily detains him. Though ROYAL NOBLE CONSORT is grounded, she still shows sympathy towards GULUN PRINCESS HEXIAO, keeping her in the Jingren Palace for recuperation. While there, GULUN PRINCESS HEXIAO mistakes PRINCE MIANNING for her late son FU’EN and chases after him. In desperation, ROYAL NOBLE CONSORT chases after her outside of Jingren Palace, but is caught by CONSORT XIAN. CONSORT XIAN punishes ROYAL NOBLE CONSORT severely in public, telling her to walk barefoot on gravel. DOUKOU and LIN GAN run into NAYANCHENG while searching for clues to the whereabouts of CHANGDONG.
