The episode begins with Nobita's mother preparing a fine meal in celebration of the twelfth anniversary of Nobita's father and hers wedding. At dinner, Nobita's mother and father have conflicting memories on who proposed first. They fight, and Doraemon takes Nobita back in time to find out just what happened. On the day of the proposal, they see Nobita's future father running late.
