Gangadhar Rao and Laxmibai are shocked when they get the news that the king of Sambalpur has passed away and that the East India Company will annex it. Jankibai taunts Laxmibai that they should think of Jhansi instead of Sambalpur. Gangadhar Rao gets angry at her comment and asks her to clarify.
