Jhansi celebrates the arrival of its crown prince. Dalhousie is angry with Nelson, and an apologetic Nelson promises to kill the crown prince. As a gesture of gratitude, Gangadhar confers the highest civilian honour on Daai Maa. Janki Bai escapes from British captivity and confesses her crime. At Laxmi Bai's request, Gangadhar does not punish her. The crown prince's naming ceremony is planned. Sunder goes to fetch milk for the ceremony, and Lachchu Bai feeds poisonous milk to an infant.
